I received an eARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review。I'm a 3 or 3。5 on this one。 For me, this is slightly more interesting than the first book in the series。 We exchange court intrigue for the battlefield (which, incidentally, encompasses the court when monsters wreak havoc)。 The sex-to-plotline ratio is more even too, even though it still feels like the sex is just thrown in for fun in some scenes。 But the lack of characterization and depth in the st I received an eARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review。I'm a 3 or 3。5 on this one。 For me, this is slightly more interesting than the first book in the series。 We exchange court intrigue for the battlefield (which, incidentally, encompasses the court when monsters wreak havoc)。 The sex-to-plotline ratio is more even too, even though it still feels like the sex is just thrown in for fun in some scenes。 But the lack of characterization and depth in the story still plague the sequel, and the various threads become hard to follow。 Those who loved the first book would enjoy this and wouldn't mind the lack of closure。 It was entertaining enough for me, but I'm not sure I'm invested enough to read a third book in the series。 。。。more

Adrian is a powerful king in his own right, but nothing compares to the fire Isolde carries within her。 Isolde is processing immense grief following the events of King of Battle and Blood, but she will not let that stop her from living。Isolde’s life has changed irrevocably。 The truths she held her entire life have been revealed as falsehoods。 With a new understanding of the world and her place within it, Isolde is adrift。 Her views have changed; Isolde has come into her own。 She is no longer the woman of her past; she will never be that person again。 Instead, a dominant force as Queen has taken its place。Isolde will not back down from her goals。 She is a badass who fights for what she believes in。 While holding onto her truths, Isolde will never back down, despite the maddening males in her circle who will try to get her to change her mind。Isolde has a heart of fire, a soul of vengeance。 If the past has taught her anything, it is to trust no one。 She will make tough decisions, no longer acting complacent。 Traitors will be dealt with - ruthlessly and viciously。 Isolde has no room for desserts。 Isolde will fight for her love。 Isolde will fight for her people。 Isolde will not falter。Clair has delivered another novel with a fierce heroine who will not take shit from anyone。 I love it! All-powerful women who take control, are confident in themselves, and are empowered by sex are beautiful! In a world where men think they get all the say, it is refreshing and enlivening to see women take control。 Isolde is Queen! She is a badass who will let nothing and no one get in her way。Scarlett St。 Clair is my all-time favorite author! Her words are stunning and make me incredibly emotional。 I have never read another work like Clair’s; she is unmatched。 I am not being hyperbolic in any way when I say every novel Scarlett releases is a masterpiece! It is truly an honor to live in a time where Scarlett St。 Clair’s works are available to the public。 I can not capture into words how much her works mean to me。 I would read Scarlett’s grocery list!I am counting down the seconds until I can read the rest of Queen of Myth and Monsters。 I can not wait to dive into Clair’s world of Adrian x Isolde again!December 20th - I will be there。 Right to the bookstore and back home。 Taking my place, snuggled up with my cat by fire, devouring the book from start to finish! In preparation, I have taken the day off from work。 Like Isolde, nothing will get in my way!As if December 20th isn’t already going to be the best day of the year, the day I meet Scarlett on her tour this month will surely take the cake! I am living my best life and it is all thanks to Clair’s impact!Do yourself a favor and pre-order Queen of Myth and Monsters。 Right now! It will be the best decision you will make all year。 Trust me, Clair is a legend! 。。。more

Queen of Myth and Monsters is an amazingly intense dive back into Cordova, where we jump right into where the last book left off。 Isolde and Adrian must fight enemies from without and within while trying to hold onto their love for one another。This book was so very intense that I had to take a number of breaks while reading it just to process what happened。 The trials that Isolde and Adrian must endure are heartbreaking and the end of the book left me absolutely breathless。 Scarlett St。 Clair ha Queen of Myth and Monsters is an amazingly intense dive back into Cordova, where we jump right into where the last book left off。 Isolde and Adrian must fight enemies from without and within while trying to hold onto their love for one another。This book was so very intense that I had to take a number of breaks while reading it just to process what happened。 The trials that Isolde and Adrian must endure are heartbreaking and the end of the book left me absolutely breathless。 Scarlett St。 Clair has absolutely followed King a of Battle and Blood in the only way possible, with a book that leaves you unsure which way is up and who exactly you’re rooting for。 。。。more

This book was just okay for me。 To be fair, I had not read the first book。 I would have loved to see a better summary at the beginning of the book。 It was difficult, at times, hard to keep track of who was who in a reincarnated life。

Scarlett has done it again! I’ve always loved Scar’s writing but this was another level。One of my favorite things about her writing is the fact that so much research and love goes into her books。 The myth, the lore like all of it that goes into the world building of this is incredible。 And outside of the spice, I think that it’s my favorite part of this。 What a lovely second to this series。 It’s devastatingly beautiful, but did we really expect anything less? Queen of Myth and Monsters picked up right were King of Battle and Blood ended。 I really enjoyed book on in this series and although it contained a lot of the same elements: fighting and making up, sex, and violence, it wasn't nearly as entertaining。 After a while it became repetitive and even the steam could not save the story from dragging a bit。 It felt like a filler between book one and three and was just an okay read for me。 Queen of Myth and Monsters picked up right were King of Battle and Blood ended。 I really enjoyed book on in this series and although it contained a lot of the same elements: fighting and making up, sex, and violence, it wasn't nearly as entertaining。 After a while it became repetitive and even the steam could not save the story from dragging a bit。 It felt like a filler between book one and three and was just an okay read for me。 。。。more

Isolde continues to be one of my favorite female characters。 Isolde is unapologetic, brave, strong, sexual, and is continually working through the emotional repercussions of more than one lifetime。 In other words, she’s a queen。 Queen of Myth and Monsters will give you more of Isolde and Adrian, more monsters, and more twists than I ever would have imagined。 This book also gave us Adrian’s POV which I am so here for。 Dual POV will always be my favorite way to read a story。 It allows us to see so Isolde continues to be one of my favorite female characters。 Isolde is unapologetic, brave, strong, sexual, and is continually working through the emotional repercussions of more than one lifetime。 In other words, she’s a queen。 Queen of Myth and Monsters will give you more of Isolde and Adrian, more monsters, and more twists than I ever would have imagined。 This book also gave us Adrian’s POV which I am so here for。 Dual POV will always be my favorite way to read a story。 It allows us to see so much more than with a single POV, and to really get a lot from the story that even Isolde only knows so much about。 I cannot wait to continue this series and find out where we’re headed。 At this point it feels like we could end up anywhere!I received an ARC of Queen of Myth and Monsters as a part of Scarlett’s Street Team, which I am forever grateful for。 Especially since it gave me the chance to read this a little early! Verdict: Read!!! Especially if you’re a paranormal romance fan。 The second installation in St。 Clair’s Adrian x Isolde series follows Isolde as she navigates palace politics and threats to her home。 If you like paranormal romance, fantasy, or spicy reads, you will definitely like this book! With great dialogue and pacing to boot, this is definitely a book you’ll end up binging。 Thanks to Sourcebooks for the preview!
